23 Rabbis Ordained at Jewish Theological Seminary Exercises

Twenty-three rabbinical students, including a native of Calcutta, India, who will become the first American-trained rabbi to occupy a pulpit in that country, were ordained here today at the 58th annual commencement exercises of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America.

The Seminary also awarded three honorary Doctorates in Letters and five Doctorates in Hebrew Literature, in course, while the newly ordained rabbis were awarded Masters degrees in Hebrew Literature, in course. Two fellowships, established in honor of Dr. Louis Ginzberg. Professor of Talmud at the Seminary, were awarded to Rabbi Haim Joshua Kosovsky and Rabbi Abraham A. Schreiber of Jerusalem.
