The Arab League is taking steps to prevent trade between Israel and Libya according to Arab radio broadcasts quoting Secretary General Azzam Pasha of the Arab League.
Azzam Pasha received a memorandum this week from the Egyptian Government on the topic of Israel-Libyan trade including “the increased Zionist activities in Libya, and the utilization of that state to weaken the Arab boycott of Israel.” Azzam Pasha has emphasized, according to Arab radio broadcasts, that the Arabs are not contemplating peace with Israel. He expressed hope that Libya “will shoulder its duties toward Arabism” by collaborating with the anti-Israel boycott.
