The last in a series of monuments honoring the memory of Yugoslav Jews murdered by the Nazis was unveiled at the Sarajevo Jewish cemetery. Three thousand persons, including cabinet ministers and leaders of the Yugoslav Jewish community, attended the rites.

(From Rome it was reported that Dr. Renzo Bonfiglioli, president of the Union of Italian Jewish Communities, who had been invited to attend the ceremonies dedicating the Jewish monument in Yugoslavia, would discuss with the Belgrade authorities the question of permitting Italian Jews to cross into Yugoslav territory to visit the Jewish cemetery at Gorizia, which is only 500 meters inside the Yugoslav border.)
