Lt. Gen. William E. Riley, United Nations truce supervisor for Palestine, and Maj. Gen. Mohammed Naguib, Egyptian Premier and Commander in Chief of the Army, conferred yesterday in Cairo on the Palestine question and the future of the Arab refugees, it was reported here today from the Egyptian capital. Gen. Riley was scheduled to return to Jerusalem today.

It was reported from Beirut that the U.N. Relief and Works Agency and the Syrian Government are completing arrangements for a project to provide homes and livelihoods for 18,000 Palestine Arab families numbering a total of 80,000 persons. The first part of the project, which will probably require a total investment of $30,000,000, will provide for the settlement near Damascus of a substantial number of refugees.
