Gustav Saron, General Secretary of the South African Jewish Board of Deputies, the central representative body of South African Jewry, arrived here today for a two-month stay in the United States to study American Jewish institutions, including voluntary agencies, schools, welfare funds, cultural and educational organizations, and interfaith activities.

Mr. Saron expressed the hope that he would fully acquaint himself with all phases of Jewish life and activities in the United States with a view to utilizing his experiences in this country for the improvement of Jewish communal life in South Africa. The executive council of the South African Jewish Board of Deputies has announced that Mr. Saron’s report will be rendered to a subsequent congress of the Board where his recommendations will be discussed with a view toward the adoption of some American methods and techniques for Jewish communal activities in South Africa.
