The Soviet Union has purchased 5,000 tons of citrus fruits from Israel and has an option for an additional 10,000 tons from this year’s crop, the Foreign Ministry announced here today. The announcement added that shipment of the first of some 125,000 cases would commence within a few days.
A Ministry spokesman revealed that a delegation would be leaving for Denmark next week to negotiate a barter agreement. After that pact is concluded, he said, the delegation would travel to Poland to negotiate for renewal of the current Israel-Polish trade treaty.
