Mizrachi Labor Convention Supports Stand of Its Members in Cabinet

A resolution expressing support of the stand taken by Poale Hamizrachi deputies in the Knesset and its members in the government was adopted here today at the closing session of the eight-day national convention of the Mizrachi Workers Party. However, the delegates also demanded that the government fulfill all its pledges on religious matters.

The resolution also reiterated the party’s demand that religious women be exempted from national service, and urged the Agudah parties to rejoin the government coalition. The delegates asserted that the Zionist movement had not fulfilled its mission with the establishment of the State of Israel, but must now help support the Jewish state economically, politically, and spiritually. They also demanded the return to policy of unrestricted immigration and expressed their sympathy for Zionist leaders arrested in Eastern European countries.
