A resolution condemning the American Council for Judaism for issuing statements to the local press which ” impugn the patriotism and question the validity of the citizenship of large numbers ” of Jews here, has been adopted by the Public Relations Committee of the Houston Jewish Community Council.

The action followed the southwestern regional conference of the Council on Judaism. Exception was taken by the local community to press releases and to statements made to local newspapers by Lessing J. Rosenwald, Council president, explaining differences between the Council and the Zionist movement.

The resolution recorded condemnation of the type of release to the public press permitted by the Council for Judaism and denounced the statements reported as ” irresponsible and as harmful to the Jewish community at large.”
