U.S. Student-teachers Complete Training Seminar in Israel

Sixteen American student-teachers who have just completed a six-month training seminar in Israel, sailed for home this week and will arrive in New York January 20th, it was reported today by the Department of Education and Culture of the World Zionist Organization which conducted the seminar. Seven other members of the group remained in Israel and will return at a later date.

The students were the first recipients of fellowships awarded by the World Zionist Organization as part of an annual project under which leading American Hebrew teachers colleges select their outstanding senior students for six months ‘training in Israel which counts as academic credit toward graduation. In addition to their studies, the group made extensive tours of the country. A farewell reception in their honor last week was attended by Prime Minister Ben Gurion, who praised this “cultural link” between Israel and America.
