Mayor Vincent R. Impellitteri today welcomed Dr. Arieh Kubovy, Israel Minister to Czechoslovakia and Poland, at City Hall. He assured the Israel diplomat that “the United States and Israel stand together as partners in the worldwide struggle to defend freedom and preserve the democratic way of life.”
Replying, Dr. Kubovy referred to his experiences in cities where people are “not starved for bread or other earthly goods” but are “starved for truth, justice and decency.” He expressed his conviction that the democratic world, by stressing the highest human values, will “evoke a response in the hearts of the peoples of the world.”
