Cuban Cabinet Denounces Soviet Anti-jewish Drive

The Government of Cuba today made public a declaration condemning anti-Jewish propaganda in the countries behind the Iron Curtain and indicating that its representative will raise at the United Nations the question of world-wide denunciation of Moscow’s anti-Jewish policy.

The declaration was adopted at a meeting of the Cabinet and was issued over the signature of President Fulgencia Batista. It emphasizes that anti-Semitism is contrary to the democratic spirit of free nations and appeals to all democratic countries to secure a halt to the anti-Jewish drive in the Communist countries.

At the same time, the Jews of Cuba held a meeting in the Jewish center here at which a resolution was adopted protesting Moscow’s campaign against Jews.
