A Persian Jewish merchant who resided in Israel and was arrested in Prague together with Mordecai Ohrenstein, an employee of the Israel legation in Prague, has been released following intervention by the Persian Minister in Prague, the newspaper Maariv reported tonight.

The newspaper, which interviewed the merchant, A. Furmann, by telephone, in Zurich where he is now, reported that the merchant said he was arrested and imprisoned for 14 months when he went to Czechoslovakia to purchase a textile plant he wanted to set up in Tel Aviv.
