Israel will import $1,000,000 worth of textiles from Austria under the 100,000,000 schilling credit arrangement made between the Austrian National Bank and the Israel National Bank, Karl Artl, Austrian consul general in Israel, revealed here.

Speaking at a luncheon meeting of the Industrial and Commercial Club of Tel Aviv, the consul said that Israel had recently returned Austrian property in Nazareth. He spoke in French, rather than in German, because of the “understandable susceptibilities” of his audience.

The Council of Jews from Austria at a meeting here yesterday decided to establish a world group of Austrian Jews to negotiate for reparations for damages suffered by the Jews during the Nazi regime, as well as to negotiate for heirless Jewish property.
