The Israel Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee last night began a discussion of the ramifications of the anti-Israel, anti-Zionist and anti-Jewish charges levelled at the Prague trial and in the announcement of the Moscow arrests of nine doctors, most of whom are Jews. Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett reported to the committee on the steps taken by the government.
The Israel Supreme Court today turned down an appeal by the Communist newspaper Kol Haam against a government order suspending the publication for ten days for violating the government press regulations. Denying an injunction, the court said that the article for which the paper was closed seemed, in fact, to contain inciting material. The article referred to the Communist charges levelled at Israel and Zionism.
Meanwhile, in Parliament today, a Communist demand for discussion of Kol Haam’s suspension was turned down.
