United Nations Sends Experts to Assist Israel’s Textile Industry

The United Nations headquarters today announced that Simon Williams, a leading United States textile research specialist, left New York this week as the first of five experts being sent by the United Nations Technical Assistance Administration to further the development of the textile industry in Israel.

Mr. Williams will spend four months in the country advising the government on the organization of a textile research institute. In addition, the Taa is sending to Israel A.A.M. Hamerlijnck, a Belgian expert on cotton spinning, H. Hiltink, a Dutch expert on the testing of textiles, and two other experts yet to be recruited–one an expert on wool spinning and the other an expert on wool finishing and dyeing.
