Eisenhower Lauds Work of National Council of Jewish Women

President Eisenhower today hailed the efforts of the National Council of Jewish Women which, he said, “underscores the aspirations for peace which guide free men everywhere.” His statement was made in a message read to the 800 delegates from all parts of the country who are attending the Council’s 20th triennial convention here.

The President praised the organization’s “forward-looking program of education, social action and service,” and called its activities “testimonies to enlightened and dedicated citizenship.” He also noted the fitness for these times of the convention’s theme, “Human Welfare Grows with Freedom.”
