The first exhibition of Hebrew books opened here today under the auspices of the Israel Legation and the Israel-Argentine Cultural Institute. The 700-book exhibit was organized by Dr. Abraham Mihashan, noted Argentine Zionist leader.

Timed to coincide with Israel Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett’s visit to Argentina and to demonstrate the cultural achievements of Israel and the Jewish people, the exhibition includes original works in Hebrew in the fields of poetry, the novel, philosophy, science, religion and juvenile works. It also includes the translation of would classics into the Hebrew by such famed Hebrew writers as Bialik and Tchernikovaky as well as dictionary, encyclopedia and Bibles. Many of the works are about Israel’s war of liberation.
