The American Federation of Jews from Central Europe, at its annual meeting today, honored Dr. Leo Baeck, president of the Council of Jews from Germany, on the occasion of his 80th birthday. Among the speakers who paid tribute to the leader of Progressive Jewry and Chief Rabbi of Berlin before the Hitler regime, were Dr. Max Gruenwald, president of the America Federation, and Dr. Friedrich S. Brodnitz, a member of the Federation board of directors.
