GENEVA (Jul. 8)
The United Nations Eccnomic and Social Council yesterday voted to recommend the continuation of the Office of UN High Commissioner for Refugees for another five years. The Soviet and Polish delegates cast the only opposing votes.
High Commissioner Dr. G. J. Van Heuven Goedhart had recommended continuation of the office for from three to five years. He told the Council that the refugee problem would continue for many years. Originally, his office was set up to aid the refugees for a three-year period.
