He never wavered from his faith in the justice of that ###.“He believed that international covenants should be kept and therefore ### protest against the Palestine White Paper of 1939, which he regarded as a b### the Mandate and of the Balfour Declaration.

“He was one of the most faithful leaders in American political life in su### the Jewish cause after World War II, and greatly aided in the creation of the ### of Israel and in support thereafter of all American efforts to aid Israel to ### the tens of thousands of refugees coming from all parts of the world and in ### dating the economy of the new State.

“The bi-partisan support of American policy on Israel was due in large ### to his consistent and courageous advocacy of fair dealing toward the State ### and its difficult problems. The Jewish people will long remember him as ### friend and as a statesman of high integrity.”
