The end of all food rationing in Israel within six months was forecast here last night by Minister of Trade and Industry Dr. Peretz Bernstein, in a speech in Parliament.
Replying to criticism of his Ministry during a discussion of the appropriation for his department, Dr. Bernstein said that the policy of relaxing controls instituted by him had already shown positive results. He insisted that “to the extent that we are able to increase the rate of decontrol and open the way to real competition, we can hope for better quality and perhaps even lower prices.”
