Commenting on the attack by German Communist leaders on the German-Israel reparations pact, Dr. Noah Barou, chairman of the executive of the World Jewish Congress, who initiated the negotiations for the reparations agreement, today scored the East German leaders for “joining hands with the neo-Nazis and reactionary forces in West Germany” in their attack against the Adenauer Government and the Social Democrats for approving the reparations pact.

Dr. Barou chided the leaders of the “German Democratic Republic who are very vocal in denouncing Nazism and anti-Semitism” but who “ignore moral and political obligations towards the Jewish survivors of the Nazi terror.”
