Premier David Ben Gurion today visited the four-vessel Israel Navy flotilla which recently joined American, British and Greek naval units in relief and evacuation operations for victims of earthquakes in the Ionian Islands off the coast of Greece.
Mr. Ben Gurion thanked the crews of the Israeli vessels for the “great humanitarian help” they gave the Greek people and stressed the ties between Israel and Greece. He pointed out that the Greek culture was as old as that of Israel.
