A budget of $1,065,000 for the social service, youth and educational programs of the organization was adopted at the closing session here of the 28th annual national convention of the Mizrachi Women’s Organization of America. Mrs. Joshua L. Lewis of New York was unanimously re-elected president of the organization.

The delegates adopted a resolution sharply condemning the McCarran-Walter Immigration Act as a “blot on the traditional American policies of freedom of thought and freedom of immigration. ” Another resolution called upon the United Nations to solve the Jerusalem problems on the “basis of a clear distinction between the status of the city and the capital (of Israel) and the status of the Holy Places. ” Finally, the delegates re-affirmed their support of the American Zionist Council as the instrumentality for attaining Zionist unity in the United States.
