The latest volume of the Standard Soviet Encyclopedia issued in Moscow charges that the Jewish faith is “in the hands of the ruling and exploiting classes as a weapon of spiritual oppression of the toilers,” it was reported here from Moscow this week-end.
The section on Judaism in the new 600-page volume declares: “As ever it plays a reactionary role and is being used by the Jewish bourgeoisie of capitalist countries and by international imperialism as a means of the spiritual enslavement of the Jewish toiling masses.”
