The first saplings in the “Pennsylvania-Israel Amity Woodland” were planted this afternoon on the slope of a bill above Eshtaul, birthplace of Samson. The first tree was planted by Gov. John Fine of Pennsylvania, who came to Israel for the ceremony, and the second was planted by William Sylk, Philadelphia Jewish leader. Representatives of the American Embassy, the Israel Foreign Ministry and the Jewish National Fund also participated.
