Israel called for an emergency session of the Israel-Lebanese Mixed Armistice Commission today to deal with an attack on an Israeli bus in northern Israel late Friday.

An investigation headed by a United Nations observer today uncovered two prepared positions some 20 yards north of the road where the attack occurred. Tracks from these sniping posts, where a quantity of spent ammunition for automatic weapons was found, led to the Lebanese border. The ambushers were driven off Friday when Israeli police guards travelling on the bus returned the fire.

In central Israel a Jewish woman was seriously wounded when she was shot this week-end by a sniper. The incident took place near Karkur village. Tracks led to the nearby Jordan “triangle” border.
