All Jewish archives recovered in the state of Bavaria since the end of the war will be handed over to the Government of Israel, it was announced here today by the Association of Jewish Communities of Bavaria.
The first archives to be transferred to Israel will be those covering the period up to 1850. Later records, dealing with the more recent history of the Jewish communities in Bavaria, will be retained by the Association for the time being, but will eventually be sent to Israel.
