The Winnipeg Free Press has apologized for its publication of a discriminatory job advertisement in its columns and has pledged to tighten its check of advertisements to eliminate clerical errors such as the one which made possible publication of the offending advertisement.

The apology was made after a protest by A. Montague Israels, chairman of the Fair Employment Practices Committee of the Western Region Joint Public Relations Committee, who pointed out that publication of the advertisement violated the Fair Employment Practices Act.
