The Israel Government this weekend informed the United Nations Security Council of 37 border clashes precipitated by Jordan forces in a 43-day period between March 30 and May 11.

In a letter to the Council, Israel listed an attack on a passenger train, the sending of armed bands into Israel territory and an attempted kidnapping. In every instance, the letter pinned responsibility for the border incidents on Jordan. The letter was sent to the Council instead of to the Israel-Jordan Mixed Armistice Commission because Israel is boycotting the MAC for its failure to hold Jordan responsible for the Scorpion Pass massacre.
