Rabbis Oppose “christian Amendment” to U.S. Constitution

The New York Board of Rabbis last night adopted a resolution expressing opposition to the proposed Constitutional amendment to recognize Christianity as the official religion of the United States. The resolution declared: “We believe that such an amendment would violate the principle of religious freedom and would do much to introduce sectarian conflict in our country. “
