Israeli jet planes today participated in Air Force maneuvers for the first time. The jet planes joined other bombers in air-to-ground bombing exercises and were scored very high for precision bombing by the military experts and civilian leaders who witnessed the operations. The air show marked the seventh anniversary of the formation of the Israel Air Force.
The Air Force has made “great progress” in the past year both from an organizational and qualitative-quantitative point of view, Brig. Gen. Dan Tulkovsky, its commander-in-chief, declared. Gen, Tulkovsky, who stressed the progress made by Israeli airmen in the handling of jets, revealed that the Israel Air Force was constantly replacing older, obsolete plane models with newer units. He spoke of the need for further recruiting of air personnel and praised the high level of achievement of graduates of Air Force schools.
