Richard S. Rauh, Pittsburgh Communal and Civic Leader, Dies

Richard S. Rauh, president of the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of Pittsburgh, and a leader in many social, cultural, civic and welfare organizations, died at the age of 60.

Mr. Rauh, who was recently re-elected for a second term as head of the Federation, was a director of the national board of the Joint Distribution Committee, served as a vice-president of the National Jewish Hospital at Denver, and was active in over a dozen local welfare and communal organizations including the YM-YWHA. He headed the United Jewish Fund for several years, was a secretary of the Pittsburgh Symphony and was a founder and president of the Pittsburgh Playhouse.
