Political questions resulting from most recent developments in North Africa, Eastern Europe and Germany were discussed at the meeting of the coordinating committee of the World Jewish Congress which concluded here last night.
Among subjects discussed were: a project for expansion of WJC cooperation with other Jewish organizations throughout the world, questions relating to the future of the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany, and participation of the World Jewish Congress in the work of the United Nations Economic, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
A comprehensive report was given at the meeting on the agreement recently concluded between the Congress and the Jewish Agency for cooperation in stimulating cultural activities in Jewish communities–especially such communities as are far removed from large centers of Jewish life. Fifteen delegates representing Israel, Europe, and the Western Hemisphere attended the sessions, which were presided over by Dr. Nahum Goldmann, head of the WJC. Participants of the meeting held a luncheon honoring Dr. Goldmann on his sixteith birthday.
