The Attorney General of the State of Vermont has ruled as unconstitutional a proposal for the holding of religious classes on school property and during school hours.

The ruling, by Attorney General E. Elliott Barber, Jr., said that the proposal would violate both the United States and Vermont State Constitutions. He subsequently came under attack for the ruling by an anti-Semitic Vermont publication.
