The first of a series of meetings in Canada to mark the 50th anniversary of the passing of Dr. Theodore Herzl, founder of the World Zionist Organization, heard Dr. Emanuel Neumann, chairman of the executive committee of the Zionist Organization of America, contrast the consistent support for Zionism by Canada with the State Department’s “present one-sided policy in the Middle East.”
The Herzl Year Committee of the United Zionist Council here announced that similar meetings will be held in various Canadian Jewish communities. Allan Bronfman presided at the opening meeting here.
