Edward M.M. Warburg, president of the United Jewish Appeal, will be honored at a testimonial dinner January 22 at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel for his general chairmanship of the UJA over the past four years and for more than a decade and a half of humanitarian service to refugee and distressed Jews in all parts of the world, it was announced today by Jack D. Weiler, a national campaign chairman of the UJA.
Mr. Warburg, until recently the general chairman of the United Jewish Appeal, has played a prominent part since 1939 in marshalling aid for the rescue, resettlement and rehabilitation of the victims of war and oppression. In addition to serving as President of the UJA, he is chairman of the Joint Distribution Committee, one of the Appeal’s constituent bodies and the major American agency assisting Jews in distressed areas abroad.
