Mrs. Frank Althschul, a trustee of Barnard College, has made a gift of $100,000 to the college for the establishment of the Millicent Carey McLntosh Professorship of English Fund. At the same time, she announced her intention of eventually increasing the endowment to $250,000. Until the fund yields sufficient income for the salary of a full professor, Mrs. Altschul will make up the difference.
Dr. W. Cabell Greet will hold the Professorship, named for the president of the College. Besides establishing the professorship, Mrs. Althschul has given $10,895 to refurbish and redecorate a residence hall at Barnard.
