Leaders of various Zionist groups last night honored Dr. Alex Bein, biographer of Dr. Theodor Herzl and assistant director of the Central Zionist Archives in Jerusalem, at a reception tendered to him by the Jewish Agency here.
Dr. Bein, who is now visiting the United States in the interest of the Zionist Archives, told the audience of new manuscripts by Dr. Herzl which he discovered in London while on his way to this country. The manuscripts, and other documents pertaining to the activities of Dr. Herzl, were held for many years in the safe of a London bank. Their existence was suspected, but they were not discovered until Dr. Bein’s recent visit to England.
