“The Universe,” major Catholic publication in England, assails Israel in its current issue and declares that the “very existence of the Holy Places (in Palestine) is in grave peril.”
The Catholic organ says that the Vatican “is ceaselessly preoccupied” with the problem of the Holy Places. It reviews the UN resolution on internationalization of the Holy Places, which it advocates, and adds that nothing has been done to implement this resolution.
“Both the United Nations and the State of Israel have a particularly grave obligation in the matter,” the Universe continues, “for the modern Jewish State o###es its very existence to the fact that the United Nations chose to recognize and sanction Jewish aggression against Arab lands.”
