Hanan Cidor, of Israel’s Foreign Ministry, has arrived here to confer with officials of the Intergovernmental Committee for European Migration on a new agreement to aid immigration to Israel of Jewish refugees still living in Europe.
The ICEM expects to assist in the movement of approximately 1,500 Jews to Israel in 1955. A total of 4,159 Jews were moved to Israel with ICEM help between February 1952 and the end of 1954.
(From Tel Aviv it was reported today that two immigrants from the Soviet Union arrived in Israel aboard the S. S. Kinnereth. They are Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Roitman of Odessa, Soviet port city. In addition, 23 immigrants from Hungary and 248 from Morocco and Tunis arrived aboard the S. S. Negbah.)
