With its newly elected chairman, the famous French Jewish jurist Rene Cassin, presiding, the United Nations Commission on Human Rights, meeting in Geneva, this week-end adopted a resolution warmly supporting the work of the Subcommission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities.
Dr. Cassin’s unanimous election to the chairmanship of the Commission on Human Rights has placed this jurist at the head of one of the most important bodies in the United Nations. Dr. Cassin, for many years president of the Alliance Israelite Universelle, is president of the French Council of State and a noted authority on civil and international law.
