Canada Hall, the first building of the new Hebrew University, was dedicated here yesterday at a ceremony at Givat Ram, on the outskirts of Jerusalem and site of the new campus, Present at the ceremony were Premier Moshe Sharett and Edward E. Gelber, president of the Zionist Organization of Canada, as well as members of the Cabinet and the University faculty. Funds for construction of the building were raised by the Canadian Zionist Women’s Organization, the Hadassah-WIZO.

The cornerstone for a building for the Hebrew Language Academy will be laid within the next two months, Prof. A. Tursinai told a press conference here today. He said that construction of the building, which will be completed within a year, was made possible by a $50,000 contribution by William Salzman of New York. He also revealed that the Academy will shortly publish vocabulary works in music and anatomy.
