More than 400 veterans of three wars as well as communal leaders, paid tribute here to Harry Greenstein executive director of the Associated Jewish Charities, on the occasion of the award to him of the Distinguished Service Medal of the Maryland Department of the Jewish War Veterans.
Son Lehman, addressing the guests at the affair, said that Mr. Greenstein was a “real friend of hundreds of thousands and even millions of people. The lives that were saved by UNRRA were saved in no small measure by Harry Greenstein’s brilliant work.”
