Dr. B.M. Block, director of the Weizmann Institute of Science at Rehovoth, left for Moscow today. He will represent the Institute at a conference called in Moscow by the Soviet Scientific Academy to discuss peaceful uses of atomic energy.

The Weizmann Institute is surveying Israel for uranium deposits. The surveys have been made possible by Henry Benson of Montreal, who donated two special scintilla-meters to the institute. The instruments are installed in planes.
