A decision to continue the Los Angeles Committee for Equal Employment Opportunity as a permanent organization to work for enactment of an anti-discrimination fair employment practices law in this city was taken at a meeting of prominent leaders of civic, religious, labor and professional organizations.

The meeting also decided to set up in each council manic district an organization designed to “mobilize grass roots support” for the campaign. The Jewish groups represented at the meeting included: American Jewish Committee, American Jewish Congress, Anti-Defamation League and Jewish Labor Committee.
