Herut Demands Unlimited Immigration for North African Jews

Ten thousand people participated in a demonstration here today led by Menachem Beigin, other leaders of the Herut Party and rabbis, to demand immediate unrestricted immigration into Israel of the Jews of North Africa. They also demanded that the entire Israel fleet be pressed into service of transport the immigrants to Israel ports.

The demonstrators marched through the main streets of the city after which one delegation went to the office of President Itzhak Ben Zvi and a second went to see Premier Moshe Sharett A number of North African immigrants and their religious leaders marched in the demonstration.
