Eban Presents Israels First Reaction to Dulles Proposals

Preliminary observations of the Israel Government on Secretary of State John Foster Dulles Near Eastern policy statement of August 26 were conveyed to the State Department today when Israel Ambassador Abba Eban met with George V Allen Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs.

Mr. Eban said he made an effort during his talk with Mr. Allen to elucidate certain points in the Dulles speech. The viewpoints expressed by the Israel envoy will be conveyed by Mr. Allen to the Secretary of State Recent events at Gaza were not discussed it was learned.

Today marked the first occasion on which the Israel envoy met with Mr. Allen specifically on the Dulles speech He did not disclose the exact points taken up with the Assist Secretary in connection with the Dulles proposals.
