The United States warned the Soviet Union today that continued supplying of weapons to Egypt and other Middle East states threatened the foundations of any peace between the Communist and non-Communist worlds.

In a stern warning at today’s meeting of the Big Four foreign ministers here, Secretary of State John Foster Dulles bluntly told Soviet Foreign Minister V. M. Molotov that he was concerned “that Russia is serving bellicose intentions by stepping up its arms supplies to the Middle East area.” He noted that the “Soviet Union, at the present time, has stockpiles of discarded arms recruited from the production of new models for the Soviet’s own use.”
