More than 3,000 persons attended a mass rally protesting Soviet arms shipments to Egypt and the threat which this action poses to the State of Israel.
The rally, sponsored by the Zionist Organization of Brazil and the Federation of Jewish Institutions of Rio de Janeiro, heard Prof. Hermes Lima, a leader of the Brazilian Socialist movement, and Dr. Aron Steinbruch, a deputy in Parliament of the Labor Party.
